Probably Stolen Chemistry Guide: Machines and Purity
Understand Probably Stolen chemistry machines, purity and temperature limits. Follow sourced steps and separate verified recipes from unconfirmed claims.
Quick answer
The introductory chemistry chain is to blend ingredients into a container, monitor composition, perform the recipe's extraction and filtration stages, evaporate wet ingredients, then select the recipe in the Chem Finisher and use Output. For Dream Cap, recorded instructions specify alcohol at three to six times the mush volume. Use conservative, monitored heating because the recorded temperature range overlaps a technical warning about degradation.
Prepare the equipment and receiving container
The chemistry starter equipment includes a Blender, Heating Plate, Evaporator and Chem Finisher. The Chemist start supplies an evaporator, while other starts can obtain chemistry equipment through the documented chemistry-set or Retired Chemist route. Begin with the required equipment rather than assuming every start has the same working setup. Equipment reference · Equipment access
Use the Composition Spectrometer, also called the Chem Scanner, to monitor the container during processing. Keep composition checks attached to the batch you are actually working on; the chemistry guides emphasize watching the contents as conversion proceeds. Chemistry overview · Monitoring guidance
Follow the introductory Dream Dust chain
- Put the ingredient in the Blender input and a receiving container in its container slot.
- Activate the Blender with Start to transfer the ingredient's chemical composition into the container.
- Read the mush volume, then add alcohol until the alcohol component on the scanner is three to six times that volume. Count actual alcohol, not the total liquid poured from the bottle.
- For protein cleanup, add acid in small measured increments while watching the protein reading; stop when it reaches zero. Do not pour a large amount blindly.
- Use controlled Low/Off heating as described below, watching the mush convert into extract.
- Filter the prepared solution through a pitcher fitted with Kotton Fabric to remove plant matter and insoluble debris.
- Put the container in a powered evaporator and inspect it after overnight processing.
- Move the prepared container to the Chem Finisher, select Dream Dust and use Output.
The Blender requires a loaded container, so check that before trying to start it. The later sequence is supported by the chemistry guide and recorded manual walkthrough, not by an assumption that every chemistry product follows identical steps. Measure alcohol and clean up protein
Alcohol-bottle liquid is not pure alcohol. Complete Chemist lists a Mini Alcohol Bottle as 175 mL alcohol plus 75 mL water; IGN's two 100 mL pours add only 140 mL of alcohol. Read the alcohol component on the Chem Scanner when applying the three-to-six-times proportion, rather than multiplying the total poured volume. Bottle composition · Measured-pour example
For protein, use small acid additions while watching the scanner reading fall. Stop at zero instead of continuing to add reagent. The technical guide describes protein reacting into insoluble debris, which is then handled by the filtering stage; extra acid is not a promise of extra purity. Handle Dream Cap heat conservatively
Two independently recorded readings of the Dream Cap instructions specify alcohol at three to six times the mush volume. Both also warn against overheating. That establishes the documented proportion range, but it does not identify a universally optimal point within it. First manual reading, 19:24–19:55 · Second manual reading, 10:49–11:23
The first recording reads a 40–60°C extraction range, while the technical guide reports mush degradation above 50°C. A conservative approach is to work in the lower part of the recorded range and watch conversion rather than leaving the heating plate's recorded 99°C target unattended. Treat the wider range as a reason for caution, not permission to ignore the degradation warning. Recorded heating instructions, 19:28–20:05 · Technical temperature guidance
The technical guide's cautious cycle uses Low, switches Off when the temperature rises above 44°C, and resumes Low when it falls below 40°C. Repeat while watching the Dream Cap mush reading, and stop heating when the mush has converted. IGN independently describes watching conversion and toggling the heater off and on; the narrower cycle is a documented conservative procedure, not an official optimum. Know what filtration and evaporation cannot replace
Ordinary water filtration cannot remove chemical contamination or heavy metals. Do not read the filtering stage as proof that every unwanted component has been removed. Check the actual composition before proceeding. Water filtration limits · Technical filtration limits
The unmodified evaporator removes up to 300 mL per night of water, alcohol and Lipobond Agent without heating the mixture. Other components stay behind. For loading, throughput and residue troubleshooting, use the dedicated evaporator guide. Machine behavior · Technical description
Recovery is separate from drying. Quality governs captured vapor in a second container, and the solvent-recovery module limits collection to alcohol. Check the distillate container if solvent recovery matters; input volume falling does not alone show what was recovered. Recovery reference
Check volume and finisher contamination
Dream Dust requires 2 mL per vial. Since version 1.0.0.5, scanner displays truncate volume to hundredths rather than rounding upward, so 1.99 mL is not a displayed promise of 2 mL. Check the available amount before expecting another vial. Recipe requirement · Recorded requirement, 13:10 · Scanner patch
The technical guides report that Chem Finisher upgrades reduce contamination introduced during finishing:
| Finisher upgrades | Reported introduced contamination |
|---|---|
| None | 12% |
| One | 6% |
| Two | 3% |
| Three | 1% |
| Four | None |
These figures describe the finisher's contribution, not a guarantee about the purity of the input you supplied. Both Complete Chemist and Chemistry and You give this progression.
Practical recipe questions
Must a dry recipe contain absolutely no moisture?
Do not apply the older absolute rule to the patched game. Version 1.0.0.5 fixes the evaporator's stray 1 µl water problem in mixed-alcohol batches and says dry-input recipes now ignore trace moisture. That change does not remove the need to check substantial wet ingredients or recipe volume. Official moisture fix
Does a better finisher guarantee the highest grade?
No such guarantee follows from the upgrade figures. They describe reduced contamination introduced by that machine; they do not establish that any starting mixture becomes a top-grade product. Use the scanner to examine the batch as well as the finisher's upgrade state. Monitoring and upgrade guidance
Which recipe does this walkthrough support?
The supported introductory sequence selects Dream Dust in the Chem Finisher after the preparation, filtering and evaporation stages. Use that named recipe for this walkthrough rather than substituting another product and assuming identical requirements. Finishing instructions · Recorded selection, 12:50–13:35
Scope
This is an introductory machine chain with conservative Dream Cap handling, not a complete recipe catalogue or guaranteed Lab Pure process. Exact top-grade outcomes, optimal solvent ratios and additional reagent-cleaning procedures are outside this guide. Sources checked November 2, 2026.
