Why the shop trash is not enough

Putting the radioactive-waste item directly in the shop trash is not the disposal route described by the guides. IGN says direct trashing does not remove it; the separate playtest discussion reports the same limitation. The practical route below carries the item out instead. Carry it to the Dumping Grounds

1. Put the waste inside a backpack large enough to hold it.
2. After closing the store, select that backpack and leave.
3. Choose the Dumping Grounds.
4. Take the waste out of the backpack and leave the waste itself on the ground.
5. Keep the backpack separate from the discarded item.

What happens afterward?

The same player reports at 35:49 that Georgio returned the waste from the previous night. IGN independently warns of return the next day or later.
